Irradiation Facilities are high-security, high-precision centers equipped with controlled sources of ionizing radiation (typically Cobalt‑60 or electron beam) used for sterilization, food preservation, material processing, and scientific research. SME Trading Corporation has successfully supplied and commissioned multiple irradiation systems — most notably the 350 kCi Co‑60 Gamma Irradiation Facility at AERE, Savar — the first and only such plant in Bangladesh.
